Tips for a Healthy Halloween

Halloween is around the corner, which for most children means bags of free candy and a chance to build a stockpile of sweets for the winter. No surprise, Halloween can also present parents with a variety of health and safety challenges.

Eat Candy and other surgery foods just after mealtime.

Sticky candy clings to your teeth. The stickier candies, like taffy and gummy bears, take longer to get washed away by saliva, increasing risk of tooth decay.

Brush your teeth 2 twice a day for 2 minutes. And floss once a day.

Drink more water.

Visit a Dentist, regular visits to your dentist can prevent problems from occurring and and catch those that do occur early, when they are easy to treat.

It’s OK to eat candy on Halloween but it’s important to have a plan.
